Spokid

Build only

WWDC24 iPad project created to encourage kids to practice sports.

Private repository

Overview

Spokid was built as a WWDC24 submission for iPad, focused on making physical activity more playful and engaging for kids.

Problem

Many kids spend more time on passive screen activities than movement. Spokid explores how an iPad experience can motivate sports routines through playful goals.

Trade-off

Built against the WWDC24 deadline rather than against the App Store. Everything went into making one iPad experience read well in a three-minute review, which meant no iPhone layout, no persistence beyond the session, and no review submission. It stayed a build-only prototype. It was not selected.

What it does

Sport-inspired mini challenges for kids
Progress streaks and reward feedback
Large iPad-first interaction patterns
Kid-friendly onboarding and task flow
Build-only prototype from WWDC24 cycle

Stack

What I took from it

The project improved my iPad UX decisions for children and rapid prototyping for event-driven submissions. It was not selected as a WWDC24 winner.
